As we've all learned this semester breaking barriers is all about taking the first step. We all had the luxury of using soccer as a medium and saw immediate results. The residents of Abby Ct. proved that making an effort provides immediate reward and that you can have a good time in the process. A simple soccer game creates trust that carries over well beyond the field. Today it's a high five and tomorrow it's full trust in the work environment and healthy dialogue that continues to promote good values.

I must agree this has truly been one of the most interesting classes I have had at UNC. This class is actually the same title as my minor and I have a whole new outlook on what it really means. The discussion of a decent society was intriguing for me as well, who would have thought we would have come up with such a great list of qualities a good society should have. I think my favorite class would have to be the day we discussed how we have experienced a time in our lives that our rights were violated. I think since it was such a small class it made the discussion much more intimate, like a conversation amongst friends and not merely classmates. I hope that the classes in the future are able to take away the same sort of call to our responsibilty as a people that I have in the past five weeks. This class is great and I will definitely recommend it to friends because you actually do learn a lot taking this class and you have a greater appreciation for everything life brings to you.
